Success for Dunmow in National Tournament

2015 British Kyokushinkai National Clicker Tournament


On Saturday 21st November over 20 students from Dunmow Kyokushinkai Karate Club competed in the 2015 British Kyokushinkai National Clicker Tournament, which was held in Slough, Berkshire.

Over 240 students from clubs from all around the country took part in this tournament . The students from Dunmow  that took part trained very hard leading up to the tournament, which lead to some excellent results:-

Max Brown (age 12) came 2nd in the junior boy's high grade under 150cm category after narrowly losing in the final.

Georgia Slocombe (age 14) and Kayley Morris (age 15) came joint 3rd in the junior girl's high grade over 150cm category.

Lily Wellock (age 12) and Joanne Wilcox (age 11) also came joint 3rd in the junior girl's high grade under 150cm category.

Additionally in the junior girls team event Georgia Slocombe, Kayley Morris and Ella Brown (age 15) came 3rd and Fynn Clements (age 10), Chloe Slocombe (age 9) and Luca Magyar (age 10) came 3rd in the pee wee category (ages 7-10).

Also, Amber Morris (age 17), took part in the BKK Belgium Youth Championship which was held on Saturday 14th November. Again over 200 competitors took part in the tournament and Amber who was fighting knockdown came 2nd in the cadet girl's middleweight category.
