Students who wish to attempt their grading must have the following:
  • up to date licence
  • Gi (karate suit) with all official badges sewn on correctly
  • have been told by Shihan Andrew that they can attempt their grading

Shihan Andrew has the final decision on who attempts their grading. He does however listen to all instructors on students progress.
It is important that your attendance is good. To attempt a grading at Red Belt Level (10th & 9th Kyu) students must have attended at least 50% of sessions within a three month period. Obviously the higher the grade being attempted the greater the attendance is required. If you can only make once a week then students have to wait longer.
